Honeymoon Bay

Romilly recently joined kojen, she's from South Africa. We decided to take a trip to Ilan on Tomb Sweeping day. She's very organised so I thought I'd take it easy, she had the same idea about me, so we ended up going on a completely disorganised trip. we only got lost once and by chance found all the right places.

Honeymoon Bay in the shape of a heart.
I have decided to learn to surf at Dasi (大溪), also known as Honeymoon Bay (蜜月灣). This is one of the best places for beginners to learn surfing. Dasi is a beach break, which means the beach gradually slopes into the sea and waves break very close to the shore. Surfboards can be rented from 7 ~ 8 a.m. till 6 p.m. People on the beach, including veteran sur fers, shopowners, and general folk, are mostly very friendly and helpful. There is usually someone on hand who will be more than happy to give you a first surfing lesson.
If you look closely at this picture you will notice that it's actually a self portrait.
I really like this shot, the angles, composition and background are perfect. Romilly likes the surfer.

In Taiwan women go to great lengths to avoid the sun. I was pleasantly surprised to see some women actually go into the water and surf. Not bad.

Our short-cut to the harbour required crossing a small river.
The harbour and fish market in Dasi

HONEYMOON BAY蜜月灣 I'll be back on Monday!!
